AI shorts generator for voiced character skits

Type an idea. Muvomi writes a skit for two or three characters, gives each one a voice and builds an upright film with captions, music and sound. Change any line, then export the video.

An idea is typed and becomes a script of four lines, then two small characters say them in turn in an upright film, with a caption for each line.

What AI Shorts can do

  • Writes the skit from one idea

Say who is talking, about what, and how it ends, in as many words as it takes. Pick a tone: deadpan, playful, dramatic or wholesome. The script comes back with a hook, a turn near the middle and a short last line.

  • A voice for every character

Each character says its own lines in its own voice, chosen from 20 English voices. The film is cut to the recording, and mouths open and close with it.

  • A place for every scene, with camera cuts

Each scene happens in a low-poly place made for it: a bedroom, a living room, a kitchen, an office, a classroom, a café, a shop, a hospital room, a street, a park or a bus stop, by day, at dusk or at night, with people sitting, at a desk or on the phone. A message arrives on a phone that fills the frame. The camera cuts to whoever is speaking and moves in slowly while they talk.

  • Captions in any of 87 looks

Every line is captioned as it is said. Choose any caption template, place it in the upper third, the middle or the lower third, set its size, and colour it by speaker.

  • Edit every line

Change the words, who says them, the mood they are said in and the pause after them. Add, move or delete lines; a skit holds 4 to 24, a script you wrote up to 40. A line can also change the word on the set's screen and the light.

  • Ask AI for a rewrite

Say what should change in your own words: a kinder ending, a third character, a faster middle. Only the script changes, and one press puts back the version before it.

  • Recast the characters

Rename a character and change its body (robot, screen, person or critter), its colour and its voice. Add a third character or take one away.

  • Music that stays under the voices

Choose an original score, one of three music tracks or no music, and set how loud it is. The music drops while a line is said and comes back in the gaps. Sound effects for what happens on the set can be switched off.

  • Export a video for any feed

Render an MP4 at 720p, 1080p, 1440p or 4K and 24, 30 or 60 frames a second, in H.264 or HEVC. The frame is 9:16, the shape Shorts, Reels and TikTok play.

How AI Shorts works

  1. Type your idea, or paste your script

Describe the skit in a sentence or a paragraph and choose about 25 or about 40 seconds, a tone, two or three characters, the music and a caption look. Or paste a finished script with its speakers named: it is filmed as written, narrator and messages included, and the page says so before you send it.

  2. Let it write and record

Press the round arrow beside the prompt (Create short). The script is written and checked, the voices are recorded and the film is built. The page says which of these it is doing and for how long.

  3. Edit it in the Shorts editor

The short opens beside a live preview, with Script, Cast, Look and Sound as tabs. Change a line by hand or ask AI. When the words change, record the voices again so the film matches them.

  4. Render the video

Press Render video, choose a resolution and a frame rate, and download the MP4 with its voices, music and sound effects.

Who AI Shorts is for

  • Channels that never show a face

Post character skits without filming anyone or recording your own voice. The cast, the set and the voices are all in the short.

  • Product and app teams

Turn a feature, a release or a common support question into a 25-second argument between two characters, with the punchline on the set's screen.

  • Social media managers

Fill a posting calendar with upright videos that arrive captioned, scored and ready to export, and change a line when the brief changes.

  • Teachers and course makers

Put one idea into a short dialogue: a question, a confident wrong answer and the right one. Captions carry it with the sound off.

  • Writers testing a joke

Hear a bit said aloud in two voices, move the turn one line earlier, record again and hear whether it lands.

AI shorts generator questions, answered

What does the AI shorts generator make?

A short animated skit. Two or three low-poly 3D characters stand on one small set and talk in turn. Every line is voiced and captioned, with music and sound effects under it, in a 9:16 frame.

How long is a short?

You choose about 25 seconds or about 40 seconds. The exact length is the time the lines take to say, so it moves when you edit the script. No short is under 12 seconds, and a script holds at most 24 lines.

Can I change the script after it is written?

Yes. Every line can be reworded, moved, added or deleted, and you can ask AI for a rewrite in your own words. Once the words change the old recording no longer fits them, so the preview is silent until you record the voices again.

Which voices and languages does it have?

There are 20 voices, all English: 15 American and 5 British. Each character has one of its own. You cannot upload a voice or copy a real person's.

Can I use my own footage, face or characters?

No. A short is drawn from a fixed kit of four character bodies and four sets. It does not film you, animate a photo or cut clips out of a longer video. For your own footage use the video editor, and for generated footage use AI Video.

Is the AI shorts generator free?

A short uses 60 credits, its voices, captions and music included. The Free plan gives 200 credits a month, and its exports carry a Muvomi watermark. Paid plans start at $10 a month for 2,000 credits with no watermark.

What will it not write?

It does not use the name or likeness of a real person, or of a company, product or character that is not yours. It declines ideas that are hateful, sexual or cruel, and tells you why in one sentence.

Where can I post a short?

The export is a 9:16 MP4, the shape YouTube Shorts, Instagram Reels and TikTok play. Captions are placed clear of the buttons and text those feeds lay over a video. Muvomi does not post it for you.
