FAQs

Frequently asked questions

Chinese dubbing, questions answered. Last updated .

Can I dub an English video into Chinese?

Yes. Paste its YouTube link or upload the file, choose Chinese as the language to dub into and press Dub video. Every line is said again in Chinese, each speaker in a voice close to their own, and the music and sound under the speech stay as they were.

Can a Japanese video be dubbed into Chinese?

Yes. The spoken language can be any of the 92 on the list: it is found by listening, or you choose it. Japanese to Chinese works the same way as English to Chinese.

Can I dub a Chinese video into another language?

Yes. Chinese is heard as well as spoken: a video in Chinese can be dubbed into English, Hindi or any other of the 92 languages.

Does the Chinese dub keep each speaker's voice?

Each speaker is given a new Chinese voice close to their own, so two people talking still sound like two different people. It is not their own voice.

How much does Chinese dubbing cost?

600 credits for every minute of video started: a 90-second video is 1,200 credits, a 10-minute one 6,000 credits. Your first dub, of up to 30 seconds, is free. The price shows before you press Dub video, and a paid dub that fails or is cancelled gives its credits back.

Does the Chinese dub come with subtitles?

Yes, in Chinese, as SRT or VTT, or as captions in the video editor at no extra cost. For Chinese captions written other ways (Pinyin, or a translation), see Chinese captions.

What does Chinese dubbing not do?

It does not move anyone's lips, and the new lines cannot be read or changed before they are voiced. A dub is one language: dub the video again for another.
