21 secondsSolen — Made of time
A narrated essay on one still, warm set.
Typography3D motion
A studio's creed, said in short captions over a reel of posters.
Typography
Each poster is taken apart into layers on a flat ground: print that stays put, one shape of colour, cut-outs in front that travel further, now and then a giant word behind. Nothing fades.
Every poster is already moving on the cut, brakes, creeps and whips into the next one, so the film runs up, across, through its own type, in from the side and back out again, with a caption that clears a word at a time and changes colour where it crosses a shape.
Ten shots in seventeen seconds, two longer cuts that add seven more without repeating one, and every picture, sign, word and colour is yours to change.
Typography films are led by type: large letters, short lines and a strong rhythm. The library lists 25 under typography.
